Ciao Dennis, how did you discover Vittorazi Motors paramotors and what made you choose an Atom80?
I began training to become a PPG pilot early in 2019 and took my first flight ever on my instructor’s paramotor that was powered by an atom80 on February 23rd, 2019. I tried a few different motor combinations that my instructor had, but I always felt most comfortable on the Atom80 right from the start. Also, my research showed that Vittorazi engines are well-supported in the United States and that replacement parts are readily available.  

How long have you owned it and how many flights/hours have you flown so far?
After training, I decided to buy a new 2019 PAP Tinox Atom80 and made my first flight on the PAP on April 7th, 2019. As of today, I have over 550 flights and almost 900 hours on this setup. 

Can you share some significant moments or adventures you have experienced with your Atom80?
In the Summer of 2019, I traveled by car all over the United States with my family. Despite all of the objections from my family, I packed up my paramotor and brought it with us on a six-week trip. The PAP breaks down so compactly and with their travel case, I was able to bring it into every hotel room and keep it safe all along the way without anybody even noticing what it was. During that trip, I flew with several other pilots in Tennessee, Arkansas & Louisiana. It really inspired me to want to fly as many regions outside of my local area. Since that time, I’ve regularly attended the Salton Sea Gathering and made lots of cross-country flights with my closest flying buddies. 

What features of the Atom80 do you consider to be particularly excellent?
A big reason that I chose the Atom80 was for how smooth operating it was during training. Not only did it start right up every time, but it was so comfortable to fly. Aside from that, I’m very mechanically inclined and have always done my own maintenance and repairs on all of my vehicles. This engine is so easy to perform maintenance on. Pretty much all of the routine maintenance can be performed while the motor stays attached to the paramotor. All of the fasteners are easily accessible with ordinary tools. Simply amazing and well thought out. The Atom80 has proven to be more reliable, quieter & fuel-efficient than I could’ve imagined when first starting in this sport.

How did you get to know SkySportsUSA and what motivated you to choose them for the supply of spare parts to maintain your engine?
I saw SkySportsUSA’s presence on the Atom80 Facebook pages. This led me to their website to look up and order parts. Along the way, there were questions that I had on maintenance and repair procedures that both Kris and Kyle were more than willing to answer. Honestly, I was shocked at how helpful they were. If they didn’t have an answer, they would call Vittorazi and get back to me. That kind of customer service is hard to find in any business. They’ve more than won me over as a customer for life. 

Have you noticed an impact on the durability or performance of your Atom80 through regular maintenance?
I can say for certain that the key to my longevity with this engine has been constant inspections and maintenance. Over the years, I’ve learned what this motor needs maintenance-wise to stay reliable. Since the parts for this engine are so affordable and readily available, I always have on hand the parts that are needed to keep it running like new. 

What do you think are the most important aspects to consider when choosing a paramotor?
The biggest consideration should be is the engine you buying is reliable? How well does the manufacturer not only support its customers through any warranty claims but how easily can parts be acquired? I chose Vittorazi because I knew that they stood behind their products and that parts if needed were only hours away, not weeks. I’ve constantly read online that people with other less supported engines were grounded waiting for international shipments of parts to arrive.
