After just over a month, the time to recover from the emotion of the 3 World Records of Ramon Morillas, and at the Vittorazi house we return to celebrate.
The news comes from Spain: the Spanish pilot Martin Carpio, in two-seat paratrike with Isidoro Ruperto Fernandez, flew 305 km in 5 hours and 55 minutes, conquering a new World Record in the PL2 category of maximum distance on a closed triangle circuit, in the Castilla-La Mancha region.
The engine? Once again the newborn Cosmos300!
This great feat was made possible thanks to a series of favorable elements between the instinct of the protagonists, the weather conditions and the strategic choices made on the aircraft.
Taking off from the small airport of Lillo in a day with perfect weather conditions, the two pilots had a headwind for the first leg of the flight. Hence the choice to climb up to 2,000 meters of altitude to take advantage of the aerological qualities of the day and stabilize. It was precisely in this change in altitude that the thrust performance of the engine gave its best, as confirmed by the rider himself in his first interview: “I didn’t even realize how much he was pushing so much the sensations of comfort and stability that the engine gave me back. During the cruise we traveled at an average of 6,000 rpm, I was so comfortable that I could even take a siesta. It’s an engine you can ask a lot from and the result is pure performance, effortless, almost silent”.
With an overall consumption of 45 liters (average of 7.6 liters/hour, at a speed of 51.5km/h, with a total weight of 290kg at take-off) the Cosmos300 has also proved to be a champion in the management of fuel consumption.
For the Vittorazi yet another injection of energy and great satisfaction, further proof of having brought to the market an engine that is the perfect synthesis of performance, safety, comfort and even consumption. An engine that, just a few months after its presentation to the market, has already given 4 splendid World Records.
And we certainly can’t talk about luck.

Interview with Martin Carpio:
What is your advice for achieving a Record?
“It is important to prepare everything perfectly, leave nothing to chance, take care of the trike in detail. The trike with which we flew was very heavy, it could not be otherwise, two men and a tank that we loaded with 70 liters of fuel. The choice of the engine and the sail are essential factors to conquer a Record”.
Why did you choose to fly with the Cosmos300?
“Actually it was Isidoro Ruperto who recommended it to me because I had not yet had the opportunity to try it. It was a real find. We tested it for a few days with different wings and immediately it gave us great stability even when we asked it to push hard. It is a generous engine, it pushes a lot. During the altitude change at 2,000 meters, I didn’t even realize how fast we were climbing”.
In two words, what is your feeling about the new Vittorazi engine?
“Which is definitely an engine destined to last a long, very long time” – he continues – “It is a reliable engine, it is a safe one. Its purpose is to give you the maximum tranquility of flight whether you are a refined expert or a novice amateur”- then he concludes -“I could have had a siesta, if I wanted”. And a laugh bursts that contains the great satisfaction of this magical moment.
