“Quero Voar Papai!” (“I want to fly Dad!”). In this way the story of a talent began. It was not strange that this sentence was pronounced by a child of only 2 years of age, Melk was already born with wings.
His father is the Champion Marcio Aita, pioneer of paramotoring in Brazil, who made a job out of his great passion. In 2006 he met Vittorazi Motors with which he obtained the primacy in all races. “I immediately saw that there was a lot of care in the production, they have always been the most reliable manufacturer in the world” and today he continues his activity as an instructor at the AITA National School in Sao Paulo, the largest in the Country, and that of the manufacturer ofIt was inevitable, Melk was immediately attracted to every single sound and image of this incredible sport. This was not surprising at all, just think that his father, as soon as he was born, laid him on a soft folded wing. He grew up in company of the paramotors and he took his first steps by supporting himself on them.
At just 2 years and 9 months the request “I want to fly Dad” and that first flight together with his teacher gave him something he couldn’t live without.
Melk has a strong will that led him to train in the most extreme conditions. Marcio Aita, in fact, devoted himself completely to him only in the spare moments in which the students of the school were unable to practice due to the wind, either too strong or very weak. It is precisely thanks to those training sessions that he could set the foundations of his great technique and confidence.
At the age of 4, during tandem flights, he began to master piloting under the directions and supervision of his father and at 8 his first paramotor flight made him the youngest pilot in the world to achieve this feat.
Atom 80. This engine had all the features to support Melk’s needs: light, easy to use and with the right amount of power, it was the only engine that allowed him to train and do it professionally.
After a rough beginning, because of an equipment that didn’t adapt well to its slender weight, in 2018 happened the decisive turning point with the adoption of the paramotor engine Vittorazi
With its 10,4 kg and 16hp of maximum power it is in fact the lightest engine designed for those who want to approach the world of paramotor flight, women and professionals who are looking for an agile and easy-to-transport engine.
Melk, how do you feel when flying with the Atom 80?
“I really like it because it’s very light on my shoulders and at the same time it gives me all the power I need, it allows me to do whatever I want and then I like its sound, it’s like music to me…”.
How does a normal training look like?
“As soon as I wake up, I immediately look from my bedroom window overlooking the airfield to see if the weather conditions are favorable. I train every day with my father, I do a lot of training and a lot of free flight to improve my technique. This is my life, I was born to do this sport”.
What are the projects with Vittorazi for the future?
“My father has always flown with Vittorazi and I will fly with their engines. We know how much passion they put into each engine and their work. The peace of mind of flying with a safe and high-performance paramotor engine is priceless. You only have to take care about flying and having fun”.
Do you have a lucky phrase?
“Pense alto! Voe!”.
Melk Aita, with its Atom 80, in a few years he has already achieved important milestones, such as the 150 km flight for a total duration of about 2 and a half hours in Brazil, where in April, the World Paramotor Championship will take place.
He reached a height of 700 meters while crossing the São Francisco River, the largest in the Country. He has also flown in more than 6 Brazilian states in not always optimal weather conditions.
“How is a champion born in the world of motors?” Melk’s story is the obvious answer. The perfect mix of natural talent, great passion, constant training and the perfect engine, Atom 80 made-in-Vittorazi!
