The first worldwide edition of the PPG Accuracy Championship ended with a great success.
Let’s start with the result: Pasquale Biondo, Vittorazi Racing Team pilot, equipped with Moster185 EFI, wins the first world premiere of the Accuracy Championship. Pasquale has often accustomed us to this placement in recent years but we must never run the risk of taking it for granted, always competing for first place certainly denotes talent but also a lot of work, continuous training and many sacrifices.
First of all, congratulations must be given to all the pilots who took part in this new adventure that began at the Fermo Airfield during this weekend. Also, a big applause should be given to the technical level expressed, which made every single day exciting and made the podium uncertain until the last round.
It was a truly electrifying three days. Friday, 6th October, besides pilot registration and an introductory briefing on the Championship, saw the pilots immediately engaged in the first precision landing task: the “Spot Landing”.
Saturday 7th was a very intense day given the four tasks on the programme. The morning started with the “Bowling Landing” and continued with a task called the “Island Landing”: precise landing within a delimited rounded area. After a short break to recharge the batteries and wait for a more favorable wind, in the afternoon the competition reached maximum show with two exciting tasks: the “Wall” and the “Precision touch & go”. The afternoon ended with a show in the skies by some of the pilots to amaze the people who attended the event.
Sunday 8th was crucial, with the last “Wing Control” task to define the final ranking. A point-by-point fight that finally saw Pasquale Biondo triumph, equipped with the Moster185 EFI and Fly Products frame, the same set-up that saw him winner in the last World Championship: never change a winning team!
The total number of entries between FAI pilots and Amateurs, many of whom were approaching a competition for the first time, reached the figure of 28 pilots. Among the race judges was Matteo Orazi, GM Vittorazi Motors who, besides being a pilot who loves these competitions, is also Team Leader of the National PPG team:
“This First Accuracy Championship, with a format making its world debut, confirmed all expectations. We hope that this innovative and spectacular format will be a driving force for young pilots. In fact, training and supporting new talents is the main goal of the Vittorazi Academy: a project born together with a dear friend who left us a few weeks ago. I would therefore like to dedicate this “world premiere” to the man who gave so much to Italian PPG competition. A wonderful example to us all. Thank you Stefano Bolognini!”
