Ramon Morillas undertook this incredible feat on December 23, 2023, over the majestic Sierra Nevada in a tandem flight (PF2 category) with his passenger Carlos Peña. This adventure required courage, precision, and a perfect synergy between man and machine. Flying at such altitudes demanded meticulous preparation. From configuring the oxygen system to choosing suitable clothing to face temperatures as low as -30°C, Ramon skillfully balanced technique and strategy to overcome every challenge, including the threat of hypoxia. His equipment included the Vittorazi Cosmos300 engine mounted on a PAP Tinox 1500 frame, paired with a Niviuk Takoo 5 wing and NAC Horus and Anubis helmets. The Cosmos300 was the perfect companion for reaching this extraordinary milestone, showcasing its power and reliability. Its liquid cooling system, the Twin Spark technology, and its reliability at extreme altitudes offered Ramon excellent performance throughout the flight, making the experience even more unforgettable.
