From the 2025 World League Cup to her roles on the ULM Committee and within the FAI, Sandra’s journey is a source of inspiration for the entire flying community.
Some results are worth more than a position in the rankings. Because they do not just reflect a score, but a way of experiencing flight. This is the case for Sandra Moreels, who placed 13th in the World League Cup 2025, securing the top position in the women’s ranking. An achievement reached through her participation in the British Open Paramotor Championship and the Classic World Paramotor Championship, but one that goes far beyond the sum of individual competitions.
The World League Cup is a “ranking of rankings”: it does not reward a single result, but a pilot’s entire journey over the course of a year. It values consistency, presence, competitive spirit, and the ability to challenge oneself in different contexts. All qualities that Sandra Moreels embodies perfectly. Since discovering flight, her path has been one of steady progression. Step by step, she has strengthened her skills as a pilot, building her place in the international competitive scene with determination. At the same time, she has never stopped exploring, experimenting, and seeking new challenges, demonstrating a level of proactivity and engagement that is rare. This active presence is also evident beyond the competition field.
Sandra was selected among the “Actors of Sport in Normandy” for 2025, a recognition awarded by the Regional Olympic and Sports Committee of Normandy (CROS) for her voluntary commitment to the development of ultralight aviation and paramotoring through her work with the regional ULM Committee. This role highlights another fundamental aspect of her journey: contributing to the growth of the discipline, not just experiencing it personally.
This is complemented by an international title. Sandra has been named FAI Athletes’ Representative for ultralight pilots, with the support of FFPLUM. A role that allows her to bring the voice of pilots into working groups dedicated to competitions, actively contributing to the evolution of the sport.
These results are not accidental. They are part of a trajectory built on constant commitment, continuous presence, and a strong drive for growth. They are the outcome of a pilot who, over the years, has demonstrated skill, determination, and passion, becoming a genuine reference point for the aviation community, both for women and beyond.
Vittorazi Motors has believed in Sandra and supported her throughout this journey with the Atom80. A lightweight, comfortable, easy-to-manage engine, always ready to ensure control, smoothness, and reliable performance, even in competition. In 2025, it was her flying companion during both the British Open and the World Championship. Spoiler: Sandra has also added a Moster185 to her hangar!
Her words convey her passion and dedication to this sport, as well as her desire to share its beauty.
What motivates you to do what you do ?
What motivates me is the desire to keep improving. But motivation also comes from the team around me. Working together and progressing as a team motivates me a lot.
What do you love most about this sport ?
What I love most is the feeling of freedom. I also love the challenge. In paramotor competition there is always something to improve (precision, strategy, decision-making…) and that keeps the motivation very high. And beyond the flying itself, I really enjoy the adventure side of the sport.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced ?
One of the biggest challenges for me is balancing flying, work and family life. I have a full-time job and I’m a mother, so organizing training and competitions requires a lot of planning. Another challenge is that both engineering and paramotoring are still quite male-dominated environments. As an engineer and a pilot, I sometimes feel that I need to prove myself a little more, but it also motivates me to keep progressing. Being one of the few women in this discipline can sometimes make the journey feel a bit lonely, but it also pushes me to keep improving and hopefully inspire more women to discover this sport.
How do you feel that paramotoring has influenced your life ?
Paramotoring has allowed me to travel, meet amazing pilots from all over the world, and discover how far I can push myself when I really commit to something. It has also taught me patience, perseverance, and the importance of staying focused on your goals.
How did Vittorazi Motors and the Atom80 support you through your journey ?
In competition, having reliable equipment is essential. The Atom80 gives me exactly what I need : it’s light, efficient and very reliable. This winter, we inspected Atom80 MY25 after about 75 hours of flying, and the piston was still in perfect condition. That kind of reliability gives me a lot of confidence. It allows me to focus completely on flying and on the competition tasks.
Is there a lesson you’ve learned through this sport that you’ve carried over into your personal life ?
One important lesson is perseverance. In flying, sometimes you make mistakes, sometimes conditions are difficult, but if you keep learning and moving forward, progress always comes. That mindset is something I try to apply in many aspects of my life.
What message do you want to convey to the flying community, especially women ?
I am living proof that aviation is an extraordinary field, accessible to anyone who has a passionate desire to fly. I invite the entire community to take the plunge, to experience this unique feeling of freedom, and, perhaps one day, to join me in sharing this passion that unites us, including with other women.
We can only thank Sandra: for choosing us and for taking our engines higher and higher. Standing alongside pilots like her is a genuine privilege, but also a constant motivation to do better. Because, ultimately, the real goal is to keep growing. Always.
Let’s rock the sky!
