A major triumph for Pasquale Biondo, celebrating his tenth consecutive victory
After 19 consecutive wins, being crowned Italian Champion might seem like a given. But it’s not. Every year brings new variables, new pilots, new challenges. And every victory has a fresh taste.
This year again, Vittorazi Motors is confirmed as Italian Champion, with Pasquale Biondo holding tightly onto the title for the 10th consecutive time, breaking the historic record of Sandro Passeri, who previously held 9 Italian titles, all with Vittorazi engines, marking an era.
Alongside Pasquale, of course, was his Moster185 EFI: perfect, reliable, and high-performing, not by chance, the world champion engine.
“Winning the title for the tenth time in a row is a milestone I’m truly proud of, the result of years of training and preparation. My Moster185 EFI definitely helped me give my best, with its ability to optimize fuel consumption across all power ranges, always quick and reliable starts, and the freedom to shut off and restart the engine mid-flight. Thanks also to Vittorazi for the support during the competition. See you at the Worlds!”
— Pasquale Biondo, VRT Pilot.
Vittorazi also claimed third place, thanks to Claudio Villi and his Moster185.
Congratulations to Andrea Cecchetto, who took the second step of the podium.
This was a special edition of the championship, with a strong turnout of pilots, an ever-growing technical level, and a distinctly international flavor. Stephane Fontana and Maxime Diebolt came all the way from France. The latter, flying with his Moster185 EFI, earned a well-deserved 4th place in the open category. Pure talent and relentless drive, definitely one to watch!
Representing the women in the sport was Elisa Olivieri, flying her Atom80 with confidence and style. She achieved a solid 6th place in the Italian ranking and earned a medal for her excellent performance in the navigation tasks.
It wasn’t just the pilots on the podium, it was the entire team behind a shared victory. Vittorazi’s commitment to its athletes, and especially to young talents, continues to pay off, and the steady growth of this championship proves it.
“This victory, like all those before it, is the result of teamwork: behind every success are months of development, testing, training, and constant improvement. It’s the product of daily effort from those who design, assemble, test, support, communicate, and coordinate. A collective effort, often silent, but always decisive. At Vittorazi, we’re investing heavily in young pilots, and the results are promising. We’re also working to bring them closer to the EFI, a young technology itself, with huge potential, already showing a fast and solid progression in performance. The Italian Championship keeps growing, and we hope it will become a springboard to launch new talent on the international scene.”
— Matteo Orazi, General Manager of Vittorazi Motors.
But the Italian Championship isn’t just about tasks and competition. The atmosphere in Castiglione del Lago during those days is truly unique, a tight-knit community spending a week together fueled by their love for flying. After the day’s final task, everyone gathers at the same long table to eat, chat, and laugh together. It’s the most beautiful and human side of competition: bringing people from all over the world together to share the same passion, and live it to the fullest.
A special thanks goes to everyone who makes this event possible: Aero Club Trasimeno, the home of the championship, and this year’s entire staff , judges Stefano Gurgone and Walter Lo Giudice, race director Vito Belmonte, and scorer Cristiano Milluzzo.
We would like to thank the Vittorazi technical staff who were present throughout the championship, and in particular Iulian Rotariu for his constant and valuable support.
And last but not least, a heartfelt thanks to all the pilots and to our VRT team, who make us proud year after year.
See you next year, with even more pilots from around the world, and the same electrifying atmosphere.
Let’s rock the sky!
