The first edition of the Paramotor STOL Classic Championships concludes with victory for Kyle Mooney, a Vittorazi pilot flying his shiny Factory-R.
Let’s say it: what a debut! The Paramotor STOL Classic Championships, the first paramotor competition in the United States, has just ended after nine days of excitement and adrenaline. The event, hosted at Sunniland Ranch Airport in Okeechobee, Florida, brought together pilots from various countries to compete for the first U.S. paramotor champion title.
The results were extraordinary, with a full Vittorazi podium: Kyle Mooney took first place with his Factory-R, Whitney Horky came in second with the Atom80, and Gillian Wintermute claimed third with the Moster185. Three different engines from the Vittorazi range, perfectly demonstrating the brand’s ability to meet every need and flight style: the Factory-R, synonymous with power and high performance; the Atom80, representing lightness and comfort; and the Moster185, ideal for those seeking sportiness and versatility (link to the ranking).
“I’m beyond thrilled to have won the first-ever Paramotor STOL competition! It’s an incredible honor to be part of this event. The challenges were intense, but the pilots’ passion, skill, and camaraderie made it all that much more rewarding. My Vittorazi Factory-R was bulletproof and ran perfectly the entire event. This victory isn’t just mine—it’s a testament to the growing community, pushing the boundaries of what we can do in the air and together as pilots. I’m excited to see where this takes us and can’t wait for the next challenge!” Kyle Mooney, Vittorazi Pilot.
Despite some windy days, the skies over Sunniland provided the perfect backdrop for an event that has already gone down in paramotoring history. During the championship, participants tackled a series of navigation and precision tasks designed to test every aspect of their skills. Navigation tasks required optimal time and fuel management along with strategic planning. In precision tasks, excellent motor and wing control were crucial.
Once again, Vittorazi engines stood out for their reliability and power, offering unique support to pilots in all tasks and dominating the rankings. This triple victory is yet another confirmation of a year already filled with success for Vittorazi Motors, which is increasingly establishing itself as a benchmark in the global paramotor scene.
For Vittorazi, it was an honor to sponsor this event, which showcased what can be achieved through a shared passion. While victory is undoubtedly significant and motivates us to keep giving our best, what truly made this championship special was being the first of its kind in the United States. The competition marked a unique milestone, but the atmosphere made it even more memorable: passion, camaraderie, and fun.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all the organizers who contributed their invaluable efforts. The Paramotor STOL Classic Championships would not have been possible without their dedication.
“After more than a decade without organized competition in the United States and several years as the Competition Committee Chairwoman I can say that there has been a deliberately slow, focused development of competition in the US to promote accessibility to all pilots. This competition featured a new task, Paramotor STOL, which not only was a favorite among competitors due to the spector friendly feature, similar to accuracy tasks. As event director, I knew the responsibility I was accepting to deliver a safe and fair competition to pilots, but also create lasting memories to carry on and spread the spirit of this competition to pilots across America. In the end I was grateful for the competitors trust in me and my vision to travel as far from Italy, England, Canada & Brazil. And of course, none of this would have been possible without the help of the event sponsors which include the Vittorazi Family, to which I am grateful to be part of.In conclusion, fingers crossed, this is only the beginning of the future.” Leah Catullo, Event Director.
With this event, Vittorazi Motors closes a year filled with victories and achievements. Now, we’re more energized than ever and ready to soar toward new challenges. Thank you all for making 2024 an unforgettable year!
Let’s rock the sky!
